The exhibition "La mode en modèles" at the Musée des Arts décoratifs offers a fascinating journey through the history of fashion from the 1920s and 1930s, with a particular focus on model deposits, a method used to fight counterfeiting in the fashion industry before World War II. Through a selection of about a hundred photographs, visitors are immersed in the world of the era's most influential
designers, such as Jeanne Lanvin, Jean Patou, Madeleine Vionnet, and Elsa Schiaparelli, among others. These images, often taken by iconic photographers like Man Ray, Gilbert René, and Thérèse Bonnet, capture the elegance and stylistic innovation of this pivotal period.
The typographic design of the exhibition is inspired by the triptych, a visual structure that deconstructs and hierarchizes content in a subtle and dynamic way.
The color palette, which combines Violet boldo and Beige quartz, was carefully selected to contrast with the black-and white photographs while seamlessly integrating into the museum’s architectural environment, particularly its stone walls. This creates an atmosphere where the history of fashion is blended with a modern and refined design.
