The Vendée Globe is a solo, non-stop, and unassisted sailing race. In October 2024, the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe will depart from Les Sables d'Olonne, and to mark this event, the Musée de la Marine decides to host an exhibition that tells the extraordinary story of this adventure by showcasing objects and anecdotes from the sailors involved.

How can we immerse visitors in this maritime epic? Scenographer Maciej Fiszer designs a scenography that reflects the race's geographic course. The route is punctuated by the passage of the capes, illustrated by photographs and a kakemono that evokes the shape of lighthouses.

We proposed large, immersive photographic backdrops. Visitors are greeted by an image of a boat in full race mode. Many educational graphics help visitors understand the specifics of this adventure: a map of the route, data comparing life on board and life on land, and a comparison of supplies in 1969 versus today. Large silhouettes of sailors frame the route, adding to the immersive experience.
