A dreamlike and fascinating object within the avant-garde circles of the early 20th century, the ocean liner has inspired numerous painters, photographers, filmmakers, architects, and poster designers. The Paquebot 1913-1942: A Transatlantic Aesthetic exhibition at the Nantes Museum of Art brings together over 180 works centered around this theme.

The exhibition scenography, designed by the Maciej Fiszer studio, guides visitors by creating perspectives that lead them through the exhibit with large printed tulle fabrics. We chose to enlarge certain visuals on display to create an immersive atmosphere.

The composition of the titles and texts draws inspiration from the work of early 20th-century poster designers. To rhythmically guide the visitor’s journey, large areas of color with rounded shapes were designed, marking the transitions between different themes.
