The town of Les Mureaux decided to create a hub combining school facilities and existing sports facilities. The project was designed by the architectural firm Jean et Aline Harari. The aim was to enable the school to benefit from the municipal sports facilities. Multiplying uses means that all Muriautins can take advantage of these spaces: the school courtyards are open outside school hours and are used as squares, and the canteen becomes a restaurant on match weekends.

We worked in collaboration with designers FandD and drew inspiration from both worlds: sports and school. That's why the signage supports are based on two iconic objects: the mechanical scoreboard and the spiral of school notebooks. The modularity of the signage supports means that messages can be varied according to the use made of the space during the day or evening. This modularity also enables teachers to vary the messages according to the subjects covered (e.g. the weather for kindergarten classes).

The color code we chose uses blue, gray and orange (inspired by the colors of team sports fields). Lineto's “Cobra” typography is inspired by a sports brand that was very popular in the UK in the 80s. It is used in particular for numbers and warning stripes. This signage is aimed at parents, teachers and children aged 2 to 11. Particular attention is therefore paid to the positioning of supports and graphic signs. Large pictograms at the bottom of doors help non-readers find their way around.
