Branding for a 21st Century Minstrel

Created in 2012 by Nicolas Lockhart, Les Bonnes Notes is a sound design agency specializing in tailor-made projects. Proud defender of French knowledge and expertise, Nicolas wanted a branding that combined vintage codes and created a surprise.

We chose to illustrate French expertise with frogs, as the English call the French “Froggies.” We chose musician frogs to emphasize the humorous note, evoking a minstrel. This humorous visual had to be very elegant, so we created it from a compilation of 19th century engravings. The website takes up this playful and chic universe by presenting the references in the form of typographical musical notes.
