Dynamic Signage for a Campus Dedicated to Athletes

INSEP

Paris, France, 2010

Designer : Romain Jeantet

INSEP is a campus dedicated to the training of top athletes. On the occasion of the inauguration of a new building designed by the Dusapin-Leclercq agency, we were called upon to create a signage system applicable to the entire site.

Outside, in collaboration with designer Romain Jeantet, we designed signage masts to identify each building. A sheet metal totem pole was placed at the entrance to indicate the different rooms.

We created a family of media that was directly inspired by the world of sports and designed pictograms illustrating every category of sports practiced at INSEP. These pictograms were used in directionals, but also as a warning strip on the glass surfaces of the rooms. Linoleum strips were used as a cursor in the signage, echoing the linoleum that covers the building’s training rooms.
