Stand out from the Crowd for the New Branding of DDL Architects

DDL Architectes

Lorient, France, 2015

Initially founded by Pascal Debard, the firm became ddl Architects shortly after the addition of two new partners, Gwen David and Yoann Le Corvec. Under the initiative of his new colleagues, Pascal Debard decided to rethink the agency’s branding.

We designed the branding based on the contrast between a raw material—grey cardboard, and a striking color—a fluorescent Pantone—which was revealed on the stationery and portfolio covers. When sending in proposals, the agency’s portfolio stood out among those of their competitors.

We chose the GT Walsheim font because its  geometric design is reminiscent of the Futura, a typography that is highly appreciated by architects for its simplicity.
